I want to celebrate the unique beauty that exists within a child with autism. Too often their potential is overshadowed by their disability, but I want to turn that around and shine a light on their true uniqueness with my camera. To do this I am donating a free mini photo session to a family who has been touched by autism. This free session will go to the winner of a special drawing on April 30th, 2011. Here are the details:

Shine a Light on Autism: Tell me either about your own family or a family that you know that has a child with autism. Tell me about their unique journey and the hurdles that they have confronted along the way. In order to raise as much awareness as possible, we ask that you be willing to share your story on my blog. I will post as many of your stories as I can during my weekly blog posts. Then, on April 30th at 12pm, one story will be randomly chosen as the winner and announced on both my blog and facebook page. The winner will receive a free 1 hour photo session with me, at a remote 60acre ranch, (free of loud noises and people, and lots of room to run around) including 25-35 images posted to your own private gallery on my website and a CD with a printing release. To enter the drawing please leave a comment with your story. All entries must be submitted by April 25th, 2010.

Catching Memories Photography by Lacie Lacy is ready for 2012 seniors!

It’s that time of year; Lacie is looking for FUN seniors interested in becoming senior representatives. I am looking for juniors who will be seniors in 2012 to help promote my business to their friends. I will be collecting applications until April 1, 2011 from anyone wanting to be considered as one of my reps. I will choose one female and one male student from each local high school April 2, 2011.

Catching Memories Photography is now seeking high school senior representatives for the class of 2012! If you are currently a high school junior or know a high school junior who might like to be a senior rep, here’s what you need to know.

If accepted, you will be representing Catching Memories Photography and telling your friends about our Senior Sessions throughout your senior year. Be sure to let your junior friends know also, so they will have a chance to apply for the 2013 program! For every friend you refer us to, you will receive special discounts.

In order to be a senior rep, you must:

• Have great style, lots of personality and enjoy being in front of the camera.
• Be a current high school junior graduating in 2012.
• Live in and attend school in one of the following counties: Jackson or Josephine
• Be available to have one half of your session completed before May 15th, 2011. The second half we can schedule in the fall.
• Agree to tell your friends and classmates about Catching Memories Photography and share your senior portraits with them.
• Have your parents or legal guardians sign a model release form.
• Agree to represent ONLY Catching Memories Photography and use these images as your senior pictures.

As part of our senior rep program you will receive the following:

• Free photo session(s) with unlimited clothing changes. Photos may be completed in one session or several sessions at Catching Memories Photography discretion. Several locations may be used.

• 50 personalized referral cards to give to friends and classmates with your name, your portraits, and our Business information to hand out to friends
• Proof Book to show off!
• Several of our favorite photos as low-resolution files to share on social networking sites like Facebook, Myspace or Blogs (with our logo on them).
• A digital slideshow on your Facebook, Myspace, and Blog Pages
• Discounts on your print orders (discounts apply to orders purchased before expiration of gallery).
• A $50 gift card will be awarded to the representative with the highest number of photo business cards turned in by November 1, 2011.

Referral Discounts
1-3 Referrals – Free Accordion Album
4-6 Referrals –Free Accordion Album & 10% off your print order and $10.00 print credit referral
7-9 Referrals –Free Accordion Album & 10% off print order and $20.00 print credit per referral
10-12 Referrals – Free Accordion Album & 25% off print order & $30.00 print credit per referral
13+ Referrals – Free Accordion Album & 35% off print order & $40.00 print credit per referral

(Accordion Album may be substituted for another product of equal or lesser value.

When your referrals book a paid session and bring in your Rep Card you will receive the above mentioned discounts according to the amount of referrals you bring to us. These referrals can include anyone who books the following sessions: Senior, Maternity, Newborn, Family Portraits, Portraits, Weddings, etc.

You will receive your Rep Cards by May 30, 2011. (Time may vary depending on shoot schedule)

You only receive credit for referrals earned before your Full Senior Session is completed. Any referral cards used between the time your session is complete and May 1, 2012, will be kept and you can order additional products or prints with your credits.

If accepted, you will be representing Catching Memories Photography and telling your friends about our Senior Sessions throughout your Junior/Senior year. Be sure to let your junior friends know also, so they will have a chance to apply for the 2013 program.

The classmate(s) must present a referral card in order to be eligible. All referred classmates will receive 10% of their session with a valid referral card. Your participation in the program will not only introduce you to a new way for cutting edge, personalized photography, but also a way to earn incentives toward your session for senior portraits at little or no cost.

Terms and conditions are listed below for all Senior Portrait Representatives. The first photo session must be completed by May 1st of the Junior Year and all additional sessions need to be scheduled by July 1st, 2010. Parents or legal guardians of the Senior Rep must sign a model release, allowing us to use your images for advertising purposes. A valid Senior Portrait Rep Referral Card must be presented by a referred student in order to receive any credits toward prints. Credits will only be issued when a referred senior’s session is complete and all fees are paid in a timely manner by the referred senior. The program is first come, first serve, so act fast if you are interested.

Interested students should submit all information by Friday April 1, 2011. Reps will be chosen and announced on Saturday April 2, 2011 by Catching Memories Photography. Reps will be contacted if chosen and also announced on the Blog and on Facebook. No more than two reps will be chosen from each school.

Surprise Marriage Proposal {Southern Oregon, Photographer}

                 **** WARNING: Really Long Post. BUT totally worth reading! ****
Breanna was a winner in one of my free photoshoot giveaways earlier in the fall. Of course she was excited to win and asked if her boyfriend Chris could be in the pictures also. Without hesitating I said yes! I love photographing couples. A couple weeks later I received an email from Breanna's mom asking if Chris could propose during the photo shoot. My heart skipped a beat! OF COURSE he could! Chris and I exchanged a few emails until it became closer to when we would do the actual photoshoot. During the first few emails he explained to me that he was in the military and wanted to propose to her in his blues. He also wanted to take pictures in his fatigue's. My mind started racing as to how we can incorporate all of this into the photo shoot and keep it a surprise from Bree. I had originally told Breanna in the beginning that I wanted to really think this shoot out and put a story to it. She was excited. I also told her that I have always wanted to photograph a man in uniform and if she thought Chris would be comfortable doing that. (Do you see me setting her up!) I also told Breanna that I wouldn't be able to do the shoot until January. After talking to Chris he asked if we could do the shoot before Christmas. I was able to make room in my schedule for this exciting request. So I emailed Bree and told her that I wanted to move her photo shoot up because I wanted to put together some new advertising to go out at the first of the year and I wanted to incorporate the images from her shoot. She was beyond clueless regarding the little scheme that Chris and I had going. Chris and I seperately went and looked at several locations and both agreed on Jacksonville. Chris loves it, Breanna loves it, Photographer loves it = Perfection. ♥ Chris wanted everything to be perfect and romantic. Smart guy! So with a little help from yours truly we thought up the idea of love letters. Man in the military, letters to his love, her in a peacoat.. yada yada yada. ahhhh (love is in the air people!) Chris had mentioned that Breanna was sentimental. So Chris wrote a love letter, a real one, to Breanna and at the end wrote "Will you marry me" He folded the letter up and he and I met at a local coffee shop. I took the letter home with me and created the little stack of letters. :-)

We met at the Jacksonville museum at 3pm December 21. It has been cold, rainy and freezing. However the Lord answered our prayers with warmer (but still cool) weather and sunshine! SUNSHINE on December 21! Breanna had NO clue what was about to happen to her and I had butterflys in my tummy. Poor Chris was nervous as all heck! He had called me earlier that day and I swear be was about to puke. ha! I wanted to start the photo shoot out casual and just getting to know each other because after all I am supposed to hardly know Chris! My sister Gabriella was second shooting for me and she had met Chris earlier in the week, but on this day they were complete strangers! We started at the Museum and then moved into downtown Jacksonville. After about 30-40 min I had Chris change into his uniform and her into her 3rd outfit. (yes I said third. This girl came prepared! With super cute outfits so I used them all) Because it was starting to get later and I wanted as much light as possible for the proposal I told Breanna that I wanted to go back over to the library and do some of the same shots with Chris in his blues. So back to the museum we went. ♥ This is when it gets good ♥ I pulled out the love letters, you know, the ones she thinks I created to be cheesy and have a storyline. I then pulled into my bag of acting skills and humourously asked her to stand with Chris behind her. I asked her to open the top envelope and pretend to read the paper like it was a letter from her man. HA! Much to her surprise it was a letter to her from her man! And I don't know how to capture the moment in words, but basically she read the entire letter (Which I applaud her for because I would have skipped right to the bottom if it were me) whipped around to see him down on his knee, she threw the letter down and kissed him. He took her hand and spoke to her, words that only the two of them will know what was said. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a beautiful princess cut solitaire. She said Yes. Two girls walking on the sidewalk were watching it all unfold and were screaming and jumping in joy. (If I was a REALLY smart photographer I would have taken their picture, but I was crying and trying not to miss a moment of Bree and Chris)

Congratulations you two! Thank you so very much for allowing me to be a part in this moment. I look forward to the engagement and wedding pics! Your my first wedding booked for 2012! :-)
